Every Day Of My Life Lyrics and Chords by New Creation Church Singapore

every day of my life

Every Day Of My Life, a praise song about God’s goodness and mercy coming after me, everywhere every time, every day of my life. Find the lyrics and chords here.

This song is inspired by the following two bible verses:

Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.

Psalm 23:6 WEB

I have been taught that I need to work hard and chase after the good things in life. Yet, Psalm 23:6 says that goodness and mercy FOLLOW me. Not only that, the Hebrew word for Follow is רָדַף “radaph” [H7291] which means to pursue, to hunt. It denotes speed.

He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.

2 Corinthian 12:9

Goodness and mercy is grace from God. I do not deserve them. The truth that goodness and mercy pursue me is sufficient for me. It is my strength for every day of my life.

I will sing this song to Jesus to remind myself of this awesome truth.

Words & music by Jen Tan, Karen Lim, Sean Goh. Copyright 2010 New Creation Church, Singapore

Verse 1
Your love and mercy
go after me in every way
Your love hunts me down
Your favour on me
is like a shield that keeps me safe
Your awesome grace abounds

And O, Your grace is sufficient for me
In every way, this truth is my strength

Every day of my life, I know
Goodness and mercy follow me
Everywhere, every time
Every step that I take, I know
Jesus, You're with me all the way
Every day of my life

Verse 2
Your love's eternal
Unchanging through the test of time
Though all else may fail
Your will surrendered
You died to make salvation mine
Your faithfulness prevails.
