A list of New Creation Church Theme of the Year from 2005 to 2025.
2025 Theme of the Year: The Third Day
This year of 2025, we believe we are stepping into the fullness of the third day, and we shall see a fresh and greater-than-ever outpouring of spiritual revival, marriage restoration, manifested healings, and intensified favour from people who matter.
2024 Theme of the Year: Living in the Upper Room
2023 Theme of the Year: Kairos Year of Right Place Right Time
1 Chronicles 17 Prayer: God know me and use me for Your glory. Good stewardship of His money. A place of my own. Peace in all areas. Financial, Relationship, Work. Divine health and fitness. Pastor Prince prayed for protection against evil. I pray for God to use me for his glory. I pray for restoration of youthfulness.
2022 Theme of the Year: Year of Rest and Acceleration
Pastor Prince shared his vision for Gospel Partner. A monthly subscription plan to help reach the world with the gospel of grace (www.gospelpartner.com). I picked up the cheapest subscription. It is good to know that more people are reached, and good things are happening to them. Taking a yearlong break from Feb 2022. Travelled to Turkey, Malaysia, Thailand. Preparing for retirement by learning about options trading and stock investment. Knitting bags, working on my website (collapsed 2 into 1) and sharing Christ through it.
Thanksgiving in July. I received a month’s performance bonus. Totally unexpected. I pray I do not need to return it if I resign from NTU.
2021 Theme of the Year: Year of Hazon Vision
I prayed to see God’s visions, participate in God’s miracles and receive double portion of financial supply. My hope is in Abba God. I prosper as my soul prosper. Started learning how to trade options. It has been like a release valve. It represents a small light at the end of the tunnel offering possibilities and alternatives to the thought of the daily grind at NTU. The extra money so far has been a boost to my morale.
“One of Walton’s projects: Caldwell Estates is exiting. Praise the Lord! No news regarding the Shenton investments. It is okay. It shall not make me lose my peace. Abba God has proven that everything is in His hand.
2020 Theme of the Year: Year of Time and Space
I prayed for an abundant life with Jesus and restoration from financial investments. Pastor Prince shared this theme in Jan and we experienced the Circuit breaker in April. For the next 3 months, we were working from home, doing things remotely.
2019 Theme of the Year: Year of the Latter Rain
2018 Theme of the Year: Year of Hesed Wisdom
I needed daily hesed wisdom at work. The workload was high and I’m inexperienced. God delivered me from many mistakes and protected me. He has given me solutions to problems.
2017 Theme of the Year: Year of Jubilee
Took over a new role at work. Sold my house for a small profit and redeemed my car loan. I was debt-free this year. Truly Jubilee.
2016 Theme of the Year: Possess My Possessions
I prayed for a new car to replace my little Perodua Kelisa. God gave me a Nissan Note.
I returned to Israel with my brother’s family. I made new friends and gained lots of beautiful pictures of Israel. I also had deeper appreciation of the places I visited this time because of an excellent local guide called Eran Salamon of Bible Land Tours.
2015 Theme of the Year: Year of His Restoration
In 2015, I prayed for wisdom for daily living, good health for granny and me.
I was quick to realize that operating a tuition centre does not suit me. Although I lost some money, but I am grateful it wasn’t worse. No debt. God has taught me not to jump into projects too eagerly but to pray and wait on Him.
I was promoted again. It took 6 years from the previous promotion, but I am grateful it came through.
I also successfully lost weight this year through a weight loss programme. Because it was a word-of-mouth programme, I actually made money from referring my friends who also wanted to lose weight. Talk about restoration 🙂
2014 Theme of the Year: Year of Greater Glory
I had been feeling the daily grind of work and I thought if I learn to run a small business myself, I can escape that. So, I bought a little tuition centre. Little did I know that it was a lesson in self-awareness. Professional work is still good. I got a generous bonus and a week at a library conference in Washington DC. It is the first time I visited the Library of Congress and the many museums and libraries there.
I had prayed for family blessing and fellowship with my sister and brother’s family. His answer exceeded my expectations. Not only did we start having regular tennis fellowship, but we also got to travel together to Hong Kong in December. So fun!
2013 Theme of the Year: The Key of David
2012 Theme of the Year: Year of Unceasing Fruitfulness
My first trip with Elsie to Israel and Jordan under TBN Israel 2012. A blessed trip. I finally saw Jerusalem, Mount Zion, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Garden tomb, Mount Nebo, Mount Herman and more.
2011 Theme of the Year: Year of His Crowned Goodness
I saw a vision of God’s storehouse. He said that my blessings have been given. They are in that storehouse. I visualized my hands going up into the storehouse and grabbed healing for my body. I kept taking and wonder when I should stop. God responded, “until you are satisfied”.
2010 Theme of the Year: Year of Restful Increase
With my promotion came added responsibilities. The year was not as restful as it could be. Thank God for reminding me to rest.
2009 Theme of the Year: Dektos Year of the Lord
Dektos means acceptable. 2009 is the acceptable year of the Lord.
I was promoted this year. It felt like my colleagues and bosses accepted me as a valuable contributor to the organization. I also had the opportunity to travel to Wuhan, China on a 2-week exchange programme. I visited Beijing on route. My first visit to China. I also visited Bangkok for a medical procedure that went smoothly.
2008 Theme of the Year: Year of Manifested Blessings
2008 was the start of the One-North building project. This was before the building was finally named Star Vista. I made a $10,000 gift to the project. It was the largest gift I had ever given in my life. But it felt right. The name of the building refers to the bright and morning Star, shining brightly like a beacon pointing people to Jesus.
My land banking project finally exited after nearly 10 years. I’m thankful I can stop paying the monthly mortgages. The profit was about $50,000. That is 5 times more than my gift to One-North.
2007 Theme of the Year: Year of New Beginnings
I saw a vision of walls falling down in front of me. I just stood there watching them crumble. No ordinary walls, the walls of my Jericho.
Pastor Joseph Prince announced that he is stopping midweek services. I am faced with a decision: to stay on at my previous church or join New Creation Church. Which is my home church? I am a member of which church and where does my tithe go?
I chose NCC. I have rediscovered the love of God, the centrality of Jesus Christ, and solid bible study through Pastor Joseph Prince’s teachings.
As I found my spiritual home, I have also found my physical home. New beginnings indeed.
2006 Theme of the Year: Year of Acceleration and Being led by the Spirit
Looking back, it was definitely a year of acceleration and being led by the Spirit.
I sent out 7 unsolicited letters to the local universities and polytechnics asking for job opportunities. It was not a conventional way of looking for a job. Thank God for his goodness for a timely interview and ultimately a new job offer.
I live far from my new workplace, but I decided to trust the Lord because the new position was of divine timing. God bless me with my first car. A modest Perodua Kelisa. The sense of freedom I enjoyed from driving was priceless.

It was also this year that I started looking to purchase my own home. I did not have much in my bank account. My savings had been spent on my postgraduate education and my salary for the past 3 years have been minimum. Thank God for His provision as I managed to sell my share of the current house to my sister so that I have sufficient funds to start my house hunting.
2005 Theme of the Year: Year of Supernatural Favour and Goodness
Even though I did not know about the theme of the year back then. Upon reflection, I realised that 2005 is a year filled with God’s supernatural favour and goodness for me.
I was attending Saturday services in my previous church while attending NCC midweek and Sunday services. I was leading a cell group of believers about 10 to 15 years younger in my previous church. I felt useful and making an impact. It was the Lord’s goodness to entrust me with this group. At work, I felt that I was not going anywhere, and I started having thoughts of leaving. It was the Lord’s favour to start preparing me for the next phase of my professional life.
We have come to the end of this post. I hope you have found what you are seeking. If not, keep looking. For Jesus said,
9 “I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
Luke 11:9-10 WEB
For God so loved you, He sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for you. You are precious to Him.
