There is a Fountain Lyrics | William Cowper

There is a fountain lyrics

There is a Fountain lyrics see Jesus’ precious blood as a fountain that flows constantly washing guilty stains from lives.

This is a classic English hymn written in the 18th century by William Cowper; a poet and hymn-writer. I didn’t realize how famous and influential William Cowper was. He was a contemporary of John Newton and was an anti-slavery campaigner.

There is a Fountain Lyrics

There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Emmanuel's veins
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains

The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day
And there may I, though vile as he
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
And there may I, though vile as he
Wash all my sins away

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power
Till all the ransomed church of God
Be saved, to sin no more
Be saved, to sin no more
Be saved, to sin no more
Till all the ransomed church of God
Be saved, to sin no more

This hymn is quite popular. There are a couple of music videos where the hymn was performed in a variety of styles.

Enjoy and worship the Lamb of God who shed His blood for us.

We have come to the end of this post. I hope you have found what you are seeking. If not, keep looking. For Jesus said,

“I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

Luke 11:9-10 WEB

For God so loved you, He sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for you. You are precious to Him.
